Johnny Jenkins here to give you my review on the Duckett Fishing Macro Magic Rod and I’ll tell you what – this has been a very popular trend over the last couple of years, using these white Duckett fishing rods, catching big bass all over the major tournament trails, all the guys on YouTube.
I just had to pick one up and I just want to make sure I give you my review.
So first we’re going to get into the specs and all the different qualities that it has and then we’ll jump into my review, my thoughts, and then we’ll conclude with the video.
These Duckett Fishing Macro Magic Rods have proprietary ring lock micro-guides designed for the rigors of tournament fishing. This micro-guide technology offers extreme light weight and durability that’s unmatched sensitivity, increased casting distances and unparalleled accuracy.
All blanks are made from the highest quality multi-module guaranteed fresh composite fibers and all rods feature comfort grip reel seats, high quality AA court grips. So instead of the AVA foam, they’re with this cork and I tell you the cork is really, really awesome. It’s a little bit something different and it really has that feel from back in the day when we all had cork rods that had the cork handles to them and these Duckett Fishing Rods are pro-driven so they’re focused on the permanent angler and they have different actions and links made for tournament fishermen, by tournament fishermen and it’s just a really great rod.
Now that we’re out of the spec of this rod, let’s go ahead and get into my review, my thoughts and then we’ll conclude the video.
Now this Duckett Fishing Macro Magic Rod that I have here is a 7.5 foot heavy action rod and I’ve purposefully got this for perhaps a punching rod, or flipping but I really wanted to use it for frogging and fishing around heavy, heavy cover, matted grass, not just the fishing around sea walls and stuff type frogs I wanted this for the more heavy cover stuff. And this rod has done a very great job of that. It looks great. It’s very, very sensitive. When you’re using bottom bumping bates and if you’re throwing a spindle bate or something you can feel the blades turning and stuff.
It’s got a really interesting action. It’s a little bit different than a lot of other rod companies. The way that the blank loads and unloads. It’s just really got a different action and it really does, I think, lend itself to hooking more bass and not missing them. In my opinion, it’s got more of a tip and a more of a in a way, the tip’s like a slower band so when something hits it, it actually has a slower reaction even though it’s graphite; but it’s very, very sensitive and you will be able to feel those bites and it’s got an awesome, awesome finish. And the AVA foam and the reel grips here, the reel seat is really great for your comfort. I can fish with this rod all day long, even with this older reel that’s a pretty heavy bulky reel. It’s a very comfortable, very light weight and sensitive rod.
I mean if you’re looking for that mid-price point $100/$200 rod you can’t go wrong with a Duckett Fishing Rod and this one actually is the Macro Magic, but they have some different ones that are coming out now. So if you want to check out some of the different products besides just this Macro Magic, such as the Macro Magic Fishing Rod which has a different size guides, it has the regular size guides and the ghost and the white ice, be sure to check out the links below in the description and you can check out some awesome discounts from different retailers.

First one on the new rod. This awesome 7 foot 6 heavy action void Duckett Rod really thick. The macro guides got our first frog fish on it.
First or second cast back with the new void Duckett Rod right after we caught that one we went through on the go-pro app with his head-cam and watched the footage just because I was curious how it turned out with the head-cam it looks thick and then it was first or second cast back, I can’t even remember, I was still getting myself ready and mentally prepared for an awesome strike and then guess what, another one came up on it void Duckett Rod awesome frog fishing.
